Pioneer Day Contuined

So on July 25 we all pack a picnic lunch and headed to Navajo Lake to take the little ones fishing. Ashton and Ransom loved it of course and Dad and Grandpa were grateful for the opportunity to get out and fish even if it was constantly interrupted. It was a good think that Grandpa had a few extra fishing poles and worms. This was the big catch of the day! Weeds!
Here is a pretty view of Navajo Lake.
We finished up the fishing and took the kids to a park and let them play for a bit and then headed home, aka back to Grandma's and Grandpa's house. Then we got ready to take Ashton to the Rodeo in Enterprise to do the chicken chase. Wow that was a lot of fun to watch and take pictures of. Ashton was running everywhere as fast as he could. He was determined for sure.
He did get lucky there was a woman that was grabbing a chicken for another child or was trying to escape and she asked Ashton if he wanted and he did of course and took it. He carried it for a bit while he decided what to do, either turn it in for "one paper money" or keep it! In the end he decided to take the paper money, smart man. The chicken would not have lasted the weekend.
No, I would not have eaten it, surprise, surprise! I imagine the coyotes would have gotten to it first.
We all had a great time there visiting with family and enjoying tons of activities. There was something for everyone, especially Ashton. It has been fun now that he is getting older and does want to do more things. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for the great time and lots of fun.
