helping?

Today Ransom decided that he wanted to help me out with my little project that I was working on. While I was upstairs taking care of something else he decided to play with my black ink stamp pad... then he came upstairs to show me what he had been up to.
I love all the extra help that I get everyday. Especially for the help from up above. Fortunately, it wiped right off with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. That thing is my favorite.

Soccer!

Saturday was Ashton's first soccer game! He was so excited to play soccer. I think that this may be the best thing ever. He is so competitive and loves to win at everything. I have had to pretty much make everything a game here to get his help. Really all he wants is a trophy at the end. See here he is pushing his own teammate to get at the ball himself.
See it was all worth it in the end even if they lost, there were treats!
I am happy that Ashton is enjoying soccer so much, he can't wait until Saturday to play again. It is all very amusing to me because I have never played in organized sports in my life. I don't think of my self as very competitive at all. P.E. was okay in high school unless it was a whole month of volleyball, that was just plain torture. I usually stink it all up pretty well and honestly I would rather lose, if that meant getting it all over with sooner. The only game that I have ever enjoyed is badminton, oh and walking. Both of which I am going to have to start doing if and when it warms up a little.

Dressed for Church

This morning we all went to sacrament meeting. Here is cute Tahlia all dressed up for church. She will be four weeks old tomorrow. Four weeks old is not much in the span of things but she is getting so big so fast. Of course the older she gets the closer we get to me sleeping through the night again, which is very exciting. But then all of the wonderful things about babies goes away with them getting bigger.
My favorite thing about newborn babies are their cute and random smiles. I always wonder what they are thinking or doing or seeing. I always hope they are just so enamored with me, and it is a smile of gratitude for all I do for them. I know, probably not but I like to think so. I also love that they cuddle up to me and just sleep, with their little legs pulled up and all bundled up in ball. I have had a new perspective this time around on just how innocent they are and how pure they are. Sometimes I think that the veil has not been completely closed and the lines of communication with Heavenly Father are still open, but it is somehow different than how we communicate with heaven. Laura this one is just for you. I thought that you might appreciate this one. I think that it is genetic!

Here is Ashton the rodeo clown. He is so excited to start soccer this week that he just had to try on his soccer shorts that fall to his ankles and the soccer socks that come up to his bum. We laughed and laughed at the irony.

I forgot!

I forgot to share this cute picture last week. I loved it. On the way home from my parents last week Tahlia decided that she was hungry and Ashton wanted to be helpful and feed her. So here he is helping out!

Happy Birthday Ransom!

Today was Ransom's 2nd Birthday! I can hardley believe that he is 2. We celebrated his birthday last night at Grandma and Grandpa Hooks' house. I attemped to make him a fire truck cake. It was alright, my creativity is certantly limited and it did not come out exactly like I imagined it. But it was pretty cute. Here we are trying to get Ransom to blow out the candle and he just won't. Of course we told him to blow it out and he yelled "No!" Here are a few of the fun faces that Ranosm makes. This is why we cannot get enough of him. He may not talk much but he does not really need to his face says it all.

I think that he has the unwrapping down and poor Ashton wants at Ransom's presents, or better yet Ashton waits for Ransom to open Ashton's new toys. They are pretty fun.
