Two weeks old!

It is hard to believe that Tahlia is two weeks old already. Sometimes I think that she acts older than that most days. Especially in the middle of the night when she sit and stares at me and expects me to play with her and when I do not she cries. What the heck just sleep!
Today was our first outing since coming home from the hospital, and that was so miserable for me that the thought of getting back in the car has not been a pleasant one. But today we did it. We kinda had to, there were two week check ups to be had out there and we thought that we would tackle them all at one time. Fortunately Laura agreed to take me everywhere and help out with Ashton and Ransom.
Tahlia has grown 1/4 of an inch and gained a whopping 12 ozs. So here is our princess all dressed up for her big day. Seriously she hardly sleeps!
Here is thing 1 doing his thing, posing for the camera just because the camera is out.
And here is thing 2 doing what he does best eating Tahlia's blanket.

Wednesday

On Wednesday it was so nice outside and the kids were so excited to go out and play! My neighbor Amanda brought her kids over to play too and Laura brought Garen. They had so much fun. Ashton was so happy to have someone to play with, since I am just the life of our everyday party. Ransom the little dare devil, until recently did not even go down the slide without me holding on to him, and here he is going down head first. All because Ashton did. The things he does because Ashton does them.
Neither one wanted to finish dinner the other night and still wanted treats and we said no way. So I somehow got Ashton to take a bit and Ransom did too. The both finished dinner and got treats and they were happy. Unlike tonight, Ransom just yelled "NO"at us.

Big Brothers

Ashton and Ransom newest thing is that they love to hold Tahlia and call her baby girl. The get excited when her eyes pop open and hush her when she cries. They really do enjoy having the baby around which makes me happy. Ransom really just wants her blanket. His use to be just as fluffy but it is 2 years old and a bit worn. He always grabs Tahlia's and rubs it on his face. Ransom also never goes to bed with out giving Tahlia kisses goodnight. What a sweet boy.
Ashton has been struggling like usual and holding Tahlia helps him feel involved. He actually has been a great help in getting things for us, but it helps if there is a payout for him of some sort. He is enjoying being the big brother for the most part. Thank goodness!

Push Gifts

Several months ago John was reading the Sunday paper and told me I had to read a article that he ran across, it was about "Push Gifts." It was just a name that I had never heard of for something that most of us like, gifts. But they are gifts for giving birth. These gifts are expected by some and not by others. One person said the greatest push gift is the significant other doing the house work while they recuperate. I told him that would be the best gift ever! Well this past weekend John, with the help of my dad, his dad and my brother David put a new vanity in the bathroom and all new trimmings, plus new bedroom furniture. He worked hard for 2 days and I love the results. So now I hate to ask him to sweep and vacuum and clean the bathrooms. What am I going to do? Give him a couple more days of rest and then get on him about it all.
Can you believe this is what they put in that huge space. What a waste. So if anyone wants a bathroom vanity it is your!

Tahlia

Well, I thought that I would share another picture of Tahlia while I still could. I am suppose to go home tomorrow. Yeah! I am tired of listening of the baby next door screaming and waking me up. Besides, I am not sure I will be getting much done and I have time tonight on John's laptop.
This is Tahlia tonight, sound asleep, like she has been all day. I think that I am going to send her to the nursery to "sleep." She has been a very good baby and loves to cuddle with me. Which I normally would enjoy, but being that I have been in a lot of pain and I am having a very hard time walking, it has made things more difficult. John has been a very good sport and stays with me and caters to my very need and to Tahlia's every need. He has changed all the poop diapers and takes us on walks around the floor.
Thanks to Angie who took the boys at the last minute for us and put up with them all day long. 4am makes for an extremely long day. Thanks to Laura and Jon and Mom and Dad who have willingly taken care of Ashton and Ransom for long than expected. We really appreciate all the love and help. You guys are awesome!

She's Here!!!!

Tahlia Ruth Alger finally made it here! It was a short night and a very, very long morning. She made it here safe and sound. We had a few complications with the birth and was in labor for about eight hours. She was born around 9:45 sometime. She was 8 lbs. 1 oz. and 21 1/2 inches long.

I think that she looks a lot like Ransom. Kinda funny! She is beautiful and we are so happy. I will end up having to be here for several days. This was not the birth that I had planned but it all turned out, we are happy and doing as good as can be.

The Funny Things They Say

The past couple of weeks I have been thinking of the funny things that kids say and I thought that I would share what my kids say. Ashton said his first word at 9 months old and we have not been able to shut him up since! It is nonstop. My favorite thing is him saying "I got for that." He is trying to say "I forgot that." John love when he says "drater" for refrigerator. When he has gas he says that he has bubbles . As I think of the rest I will continue my list. Ransom still does not say too much but a few weeks ago while John was dressing Ransom, he said something like "Appy" I think that he is singing but John thought that it sounded like "happy" so every time that Ransom said Appy, John said Happy and it became a game. It was great though, he is saying more and more things now and he is signing even more too. I guess that it was enough to build his confidence to actually saying something. Of course he yells "no" and "don't," he says "uh oh," and "umm." Yesterday I got him to say "mama" on command. Yeah! Tonight during scripture reading he said "wo" repeating daddy. It has been fun seeing him grow up.
The pictures are the fun things that the bys have been enjoying. at the top Ashton figured out that the fan could keep the balloon in the air. Above is Ransom and his new favorite new toy that Daddy so kindly got out for them to play with. I don't dare put it away, he loves that fire truck and will play with it for awhile. And below is Ransom after he put on his own hat. He loves shoes, and hats too.
