Our pumpkin story

This past spring while we were planting the garden we decided to plant a couple of old pumpkin seeds in a spot we had nothing else to grow. We thought that we would take a chance and try to grow pumpkins. A couple of years ago we did that, with the same seeds and we had 3 baby size pumpkins, the cutest things you ever saw. This year the plants took over everything and we ended up with eight very good size pumpkins. All John and I could think is "I am not carving all of those."
Although, Ashton has been watching them grow and has been so excited since August about Halloween because his pumpkins were orange. These pumpkins have been sitting around the house for about 5 weeks now. Everyday for the last 5 weeks he asked if we were going to carve pumpkins. Yesterday he got his wish and we did it. We carved 5 of the pumpkins. We finished after he went to bed and this morning first thing he was out the front door to check on the jack-o-lanterns.
Ransom thought that it was fun too watch us and eat treats.
And Ashton was thrilled because this is a prelude of what is to come, now he gets to go and get candy. All that matters is the candy.
