Last Days of Summer!

I love summer time. I love the freedom from coats and shoes. I love to cool off in water and lay in the sun to warm up. I have decided to spare my neighbors, I just let the boys play in the water on warm days and enjoy watching them. Ransom is just starting to get the hang of playing in the pool and now it is time to put it away. I let them play on one of the last warm days we had about 2 weeks ago. So fun to bake in the sun. We made cereal necklaces and I guess Ransom was Very hungry!
Ransom and his trike. He loves to sit and run his legs. I just love to watch him do it.
Ashton loves to bounce down the sidewalk.
Tahlia just loves to watch them and laugh at them. It is so fun!
To bad that summer is coming to a close and soon it will be snowing soon and I will have to get all bundled up to shovel mountains of snow from the driveway again. Wow, that was a depressing thought! Oh, I love summer, I love summer, I love summer!

Labor Day Weekend!

I forgot I had these pictures. I am not known to take tons of pictures but here are a couple of the fun night. We "camped" in the yard again and this time we invited Angie, Justin, Jake and Joey. I had a lot of fun and so did the kids. I sure hope everyone else did! John did a dutch oven dinner for us and it was awesome. After it got dark John built a fire and we did smores with the kids. They loved it! They thought that it was so much fun to have friends sleep over and to play with.
Jake fell asleep before it got dark. I guess he did not have too much fun.

Are there enough marshmallows there, guys?

Last One!

Are you tired of all my babbling yet. Well this will be the last one for a bit and I will pronounce myself caught up on blogging and you will be caught up on our lives.
Tahlia rolled over for the first time on Tuesday and I missed it all three times. Why is that they only do it when we walk away to get the camera or because we got bored waiting for it to happen again. Well, here I left her on her back and now she is on her tummy screaming. Imagine that. I keep telling her that before too much longer she will love being on her tummy and crawling around. Hard to believe she will be crawling so soon. On Tuesday I went with some friends to the Dino Park. This time it was $2 Tuesday. Hard to believe that I would have had to pay $18 to get in regularly. It is still fun. They still love the same activities.
Every time Ashton sees this shark he tells me "This is the shark from Nemo. How do I know because it is the same color." He "is a tricky Ashton."
Ashton always says the funniest things last week there was a little one here that was sad when his Mom left and he said "I wish he would stop all the crying, cause I can't handle all the drama." As he rolls his eyes, of course. Later I was repeating it to John and John asked "where did you learn that?" and Ashton responds "from Mommy!" Great I guess that everything that you say in front of little ones is free for interpretation. Unless it is Ransom! I decided that is one nice thing about him not talking is that he does not usually talk back to me!

Mirror Lake

On Saturday we took the kids to Mirrior Lake to let them fish and do a dutch oven dinner. It was a lot of fun to get out for a bit and let the kids do what they love, spending time with their Dad and I got to do what I wanted read and eat. There were few bites on Saturday so they did not get anything.
On the way up to Mirrior Lake we stopped at the Provo Falls. It gets pretty chilly even this time of year it is high up in the Unitas.
Tahlia fell asleep just before dinner. Too bad she couldn't enjoy it.
Ransom was so excited to find a hat like his dad had and wear his little red coat. He still loves that thing. Here is our great feast. It was a lot of fun to get out with the kids and I hope to continue doing fun things with them.

Another first

Last Thursday was the first time that we fed Tahlia rice cereal. John fed it to her and she did a great job. She seemed to have liked it. I still can not believe that she has gotten so big so fast. Now she does not do as well, beginners luck I guess. After that I left I left to play Bunco with a friend and all though I did not get Bunco even once it was still pretty fun. I like games if the rules are simple and there is not strategy involved. I don't want to think to hard about something, that takes all the fun out of it for me. I guess no beginners luck for me. Oh well!

Happy 6th Anniversary!

On August 16 John and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. It has been a short and fun six years. I could be up in the night and you can tell me if you want but I don't think that we have changed too much in that time except the obvious: John's hair and my weight. I guess that three kids can do crazy things to a couple. John and I actually met at the end of 2000. After he moved into my student ward in Logan. A few months later I moved in with my friends in the same building he was in and my apartment of girls and his apartment of guys did everything together that summer and at the end of the summer the pranks began. It wasn't until we were married that I told John how I painted their window.
In March of 2002, over spring break, I was trying to set John up with a friend and she was going to set me up with a friend and for some reason I could not get a hold of her to make that happen and so John decided to ask me up to his apartment for dinner with him and some friends. I accepted and I guess that the rest is history.
John knew that he wanted to marry me long before I knew that I wanted to marry him. One day in June I told him that I was ready to get married and he officially proposed to me on July 3rd. And set the date for August and we were married in the Logan temple. A funny story about all this is that a week and a half before we were married I had a family reunion to attend in North Dakota. So we did the trek with my sister. Right before we left I had an appointment to have some warts removed from my finger and well it did not go well. I ended up in an emergency room in Iowa. After that we continued and when we got to North Dakota I retold the whole story to my mom and she looked at at me and said "never mind." I laughed and said "yeah, no it won't heal before I get married next week." As a kid she would always tell us that it will heal before we get married. Not this time.
I guess that everyone has their drama for their wedding and day and it all that I will say about that now. I love you, John!

Bear Lake Again!!!!

So at the beginning of this month Angie invited us to go to Bear Lake for a week and stay at her in laws cabin. I did not have much else to do so I took her up on the offer. It turned out great. The kids had a great time playing and so did I. Over the couple of days that we were there we did lots of stuff but still took it easy. Here is cute Jake ready to go to the cabin after playing in the water. Here is hansom Ransom happy with all the sand he can stand to play in.
Ashton just loves the cool water. He thinks that going to Bear Lake is great too.

Before we headed to the beach it started to rain so we took some time and made cookies with the kids. Jake and Ashton thought that it was fun to do and then even better to sneak bites of cookie dough. Here was Joey and Ransom's haven. An old pool used as a sand box. Nothing was better that that.
We were there during Raspberry day, Bear Lake is famous for its Raspberry shakes, so one evening we thought that we would take the kids to the parade and get candy, but we got there a few minutes late and to avoid the sadness we got the kids cheap ice cream cones and they were so happy with that. What a great day.

The next day we took the kids up a canyon to a place called Minutonka caves and this time we were able to get tickets and take the kids in. They all thought that it was pretty fun. It was definitely alot of work for us. Tahlia decide to take a nap right in the middle of the tour and Ransom decided that he needed my constant help going up and down the steps. I am glad we did it, it was fun to take the kids to see something that they normally would not see. The last day there John and Justin came up. Angie and Justin took us and the kids out on the boat. Here I am on the tube with Ashton. Who knew that I could do that! Ashton thought that the tube was pretty fun in about 4 minute intervals. Why four minutes you ask? Because he is four. He got that from his "tricky brain."
Ransom did not want to go out on the tube, but he did just fall asleep right there on the boat, crazy little kid.

Angie and Justin were very brave and let Ashton drive the boat. He did a good job. For some crazy reason they thought that I should drive the boat later and well, just let me say for they they paid the price! Sorry guys! I my defense I have only been on a boat like this a few times in my life.
Tahlia thought that it was a good place to sleep with the life vest on and everything, she never complained. And John the party pooper did not even bring his suit.
I forgot to mention the beloved four wheelers. I did not get a picture of that but that was Ashton's favorite thing, riding on the four wheeler and as it turns out Jake's favorite thing was me getting the four wheeler stuck. What scan I say it was a week fun of firsts for me.
It was a great trip and very relaxing. We had a great time with the kids and I know that they did too. Thanks Angie for inviting us and to Justin's family for sharing what they have with us. I came home feeling better than I have in months and months. There are no words to express gratitude for that gift that I have been given.
