Dinosaur Park

We had a pass to the thanksgiving point Dionosaurs park. There I met up with Laura and Garen and we took the kids to play. Ashton was so excited to go there he loves it. He just could not wait to get to the fun stuff. Some of the things are hands on and other things they are not to touch. It is always fun to go there and learn new things. Here Laura is holding Miss Tahlia for me on the Baby Dino.
All three are digging with paint brushes in the sand for the Dino bones that are buried.
The three boys are hiding in the cave.
Ransom is playing in the erosion table. Here there is sand and running water that they can pack and watch the trees and dinos fall as it erodes. This is what Ashton was so anxious to get to.
This was pretty cool.

It is a fun place to take the kids to and they love it.

Day at the Zoo

Every year the end of July or beginning of August Kennecott sends out booklets that have free passes for a lot of activities here in the valley, but only good for a couple of weeks. It always a lot of fun to get the booklets and take some time and do several of the activities with the kids. We took the kids to the zoo for the first time this year. John and I love the bird show at the zoo and go to it every chance we get. Here below is an Antarctica Eagle, I think. It is huge!
After the zoo we went to the Grandma's and Grandpa's for naps and then headed to the Children's Museum for a bit and then met Mom and Dad at the Clark Planetarium to see an Imax. It was a lot of fun and a very busy day. Seriously who goes to all of those places in one day?

Pioneer Day!

Oh well, We took Ashton the festivities there in Enterprise. He was so excited. He was ready to race in his age group. He did about second place as far as I could tell. He sure was disappointed and I did not want to tell him I thought that he did not win. I think that the boy next to him won. He was very sad because he wanted the "trophy." I realized that Tahlia went with us and there are no pictures of her here and I could not forget that. She sure is growing up!
Thursday morning we all went to the parade and let the kids get candy. They were so excited and ready for the candy.

Here is all of Ashton's loot.

That night we went to Tuchan to see a showing of Les Miserables and we had a great time. Everyone did an excellent job. I was pleasantly surprised. Tuchan is an outdoor amphitheater and it was hot but fun. Afterwards they had fireworks for us. I guess they do this after every show.

Pioneer Day Contuined

So on July 25 we all pack a picnic lunch and headed to Navajo Lake to take the little ones fishing. Ashton and Ransom loved it of course and Dad and Grandpa were grateful for the opportunity to get out and fish even if it was constantly interrupted. It was a good think that Grandpa had a few extra fishing poles and worms. This was the big catch of the day! Weeds!
Here is a pretty view of Navajo Lake.
We finished up the fishing and took the kids to a park and let them play for a bit and then headed home, aka back to Grandma's and Grandpa's house. Then we got ready to take Ashton to the Rodeo in Enterprise to do the chicken chase. Wow that was a lot of fun to watch and take pictures of. Ashton was running everywhere as fast as he could. He was determined for sure.
He did get lucky there was a woman that was grabbing a chicken for another child or was trying to escape and she asked Ashton if he wanted and he did of course and took it. He carried it for a bit while he decided what to do, either turn it in for "one paper money" or keep it! In the end he decided to take the paper money, smart man. The chicken would not have lasted the weekend.
No, I would not have eaten it, surprise, surprise! I imagine the coyotes would have gotten to it first.
We all had a great time there visiting with family and enjoying tons of activities. There was something for everyone, especially Ashton. It has been fun now that he is getting older and does want to do more things. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for the great time and lots of fun.

Catch-Up!

In July over the a weekend we took the kids to Logan and stayed with Joy for the night and played there for a bit. In the morning Michael took the kids for a short tractor ride and the took them to show them his airplane. Ashton thought that it was all a lot of fun. He really just loved the time he had to play with his cousin, Ashley. After we left Logan we headed to the Minutonka caves and got all the way out there to find out that it was a busy place that day and we could not get in until later, so we left and headed the the beach for some fun in the sun with Laura, Jon, Garen, Joy, David Scott and Ashley. The beach was gorgeous like usual. It was a warm day and the sand was warm and the water blue and refreshing. Ashton loved it of course. He had a blast in the water and loved playing with Ashley even more.

After all the fun in the sun we headed to the Pickelville Playhouse to meet up with Mom, Dad, David, Sara and Melynda see the melodrama "Chuckwagon." It was a lot of fun and well done. After the play we stayed for dinner and visited with everyone. For some crazy reason I love to eat there. Their dinner is so good and very fun. Well, the truth is that I love food and my obsession with it gets worse every year. I think that I will need therapy soon, one kind or another.

After all that fun we headed home.

Summer 2008

Fourth of July

It has been a busy summer for me. So that is why I am just now posting these. We had a great fourth of July. John had to work all day and so I decided to invite family over for a Bar-b-Que. We had a lot of fun playing and eating. We set up the tents in the back yard and then watched the fireworks in the front and then went to the tent to sleep. The kids absolutely love sleeping in the tent. The boys had fun with the sparklers and snaps. Laura and Jon spent the night in the back yard with us. It was just like camping out but I still got to use my own bathroom.
