So we took the kids and headed up to Yellowstone and met some of my family there. We were able to do several things that we had never done before. It was awesome to have the time and do and see different things. The
Our first day in Yellowstone we found out that a road we needed to get around on was closed so we went around. It was a 4 hour detour. Getting back was suppose to be a 3 1/2 hour detour. Well the 4 hours in the car with 3 kids was long and then to find out a hike we wanted to do was closed. I was very upset. This is what I wanted to do and now everything was stopping me from doing it. Then we did what we could and started the long drive back and then we got stuck in a huge traffic jam, to find out that Bison were on the road and cars were afraid to move.
During the day John went to pick out a magnet with the kids and asked what I wanted and I said "Yellowstone 2009 Sucks" He found Yellowstone 2009 and said that would have to do. The trip did improve and we enjoyed the things that were close to us. The next 2 days we spent doing things around Old Faithful. It was fun seeing and doing things there I had never taken the time to see. There is always more to see in Yellowstone. Yellowstone 2009 was awesome! I can't wait to go again. I just hope they get the raods fixed soon! Going up to Bozman Montana was a bit crazy!

It looks like you had fun anyway. We were really bummed about the closed road as well. Plus we didn't see hardly any wildlife, so dad was especially disappointed about that. Too bad we couldn't have been there at the same time. I guess that's what you get when things aren't planned ; - )
