Ice Fishing!

The second Saturday in January John took the boys ice fishing. I guess they got lucky! This was Ransom's catch and from what they had seen this was the catch of day!

Ransom had a lot of fun out on the ice and Ashton told me it was no fun for him because he did not catch a fish.

Monster Truck!

Here is Ashton and all of his Kindergarten class with the monster truck. A cute boy in Ashton's class got a trip to school in a monster tuck in association with Make-A-Wish Foundation wish enhancement.
They showed up to school during the class show and tell with the monster truck on a flat bed and come complete with a police escort and news crews. The word around the school was that it was someones show and tell!

New Years Eve!

This year we did our annual New Year's Eve party. It was a Chinese theme murder mystery and after a little research I found out that at the end of dinner, the host should put a whole dead fish out on the table for luck and prosperity. I decided not to since it was not really a Chinese new year, and just offered fortune cookies instead, Yuck! So I made some bad Chinese food and dressed us up in some bad costumes. It was pretty fun. I love having people that have never played before and we had just that. Woohoo who!?!

Christmas Morning!

Finally arrived the long awaited day, CHRISTMAS MORNING! The kids were SOOOO excited! To say the least. Ashton woke up and came to get us up and told us "I think that we are presentaholics, there are so many presents under the tree!"
We got up to get a picture of all the kids in front of the tree and the very next one Tahlia was off looking for something that she thought looked like more fun. She found a bug car and pulled it out and sat in it. It did not matter if it was for her or not, it WAS hers! She did not even care to open other presents. She was so happy! Ransom and Ashton did not mind, they decided to open them for her.

After all the presents were open, Ashton and Ransom were still pleased to find some fun in their stockings. They found light sabers. Ransom was happy but, Ashton was thrilled! He put his out and help it up and said in a very deep voice "I am Dark Mater!" Oh how we just giggled and let him say it! It was a lot of fun!
It was a fun morning! Ashton told us this was the best Christmas ever! I am sure he is already looking forward to Christmas 2010!

Piano Lessons

Ashton has been taking piano lessons since about April and has really been enjoying it regardless of anything that he says. He absolutely loves the satisfaction in learning to master a new song and play it for others. Here is Ashton with his Piano Teacher, at his last lesson. He learned a lot with her and misses her of course. Ransom misses her too!

Ashton is still in piano, I just found a another teacher that is closer to home. He is still enjoying piano despite all the complaining!

Christmas photo

In an effort to get a photo Christmas card done I resorted to taking my own picture and editing it myself. It looked pretty cute for an amateur with busy subjects.

I guess...

I guess that the last several weeks have been a bit busy for me and I am now attempting to make it right.
At the beginning of December we went out to get a tree and brought it home to decorate it for Christmas. Ashton was so anxious to get that tree decorated and he loved every minute of it. Ransom loved decorating the tree too. Tahlia found Christmas decorations that she thought were pretty fun.

As much fun as it was for me to redecorate the tree when they were all done, I must admit that they were a great help when it came to taking down the tree and all of the Christmas decorations.
